ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (18+)
Delivered by Mind Cymru, this is a two day ‘suicide first aid’ course. Most people considering suicide share their distress and their intent, sometimes very discreetly.
Training will help you see and respond to these invitations for help, give you the condfidence to ask about suicide if you are concerned about someone’s safety and provide you with the tools to help prevent immediate risk.
New research from Public Health Wales shows that after completing the ASIST course, 97% felt more prepared to help a person at risk of suicide and follow up studies showed that 73% had already used the training to help someone.
